We are always on the lookout for volunteers in the NSW regions we cover. Check out where our offices are located on the “contact us” page.

Over the years we have had an enthusiastic group of volunteers who have built DA into a well-known and respected service that assists people in a tangible way. Existing volunteers comment that they enjoy the friendly team atmosphere in the office, the support they receive from paid staff, the valuable experience they gain and access to training.

Most volunteers start work in a “front desk” role, answering the phone and being the first point of contact for people who use the service. Sometimes volunteers also help with administrative work and doing background research for advocates or sometimes “shadow” advocates to learn more about disability advocacy skills.

We encourage people with a disability to consider our volunteer roles. For some volunteers who have gone onto  further training it has meant paid employment as an advocate with the service.

If your are interested in being a volunteer email HR@da.org.au find out more. Or apply here DA Volunteer Position Description and Application
